With the estimated cost of regattas and training camps for rowers for the season being $1,758 (See attached spreadsheet and bank AP sheet) the committee is suggesting that you consider making automatic payments to the club account 06 0507 0112335 25. This will spread the load for rowers and
parents and will assist the club with planning and paying for these events.
are some examples of automatic payments you may want to consider between now
and February 2008 to pay the estimated costs of $1,758:
30 Weekly payments of $58.60, or,
15 Fortnightly payments of $117.20, or
7 Monthly payments of $251.14.

Nationals – Flights
The club has had to urgently pay $13,500 to secure return flights from Wellington to Chch for Nationals (this price is very good as we were quoted $18,500).
A deposit of $300 per rower is needed to cover these flight costs – and to help ensure the club does not encounter any financial problems. If possible we would like to receive this deposit ASAP or by the end of next week 26/01/2007.
We know this is a hard time – and there are a lot of expenses coming out over the next month – if you think you are going to have problems paying for any of the regattas please talk to a committee member (the club can offer some financial support).
Fundraising money…please remember fundraising money will be subtracted from the remaining cost for Nationals – you will receive more information about this soon.
$ 300 flights for Nationals
* Subs: Adults $275 – Students $200 – Cox $100
* $60 club hoodies
* $25 racing singlet (men’s crews and novice women)
* $60 racing one-piece (club women)
upcoming regatta costs
Date Event Estimated cost
(Travel TBC 16th & 25th) NZ Champs (Twizel) $500 - $650
(Minus fund raising money, and money for flights if already paid)
It’s important as we enter this busy time of year that we keep everyone well informed about upcoming regattas. Please take this information home to share with your parents!
The below chart indicates potential costs for upcoming regattas. These are an estimate only (and will be confirmed closer to regatta dates). Fundraising has not been taken into account and will help to reduce costs.
We understand this can be an expensive time of year. If you are having problems with making payments towards regatta costs please speak to your coach or one of the committee members (arrangements can be made with the club to deal with financial hardship).
If your parents are interested in attending any of the below regattas to ‘lend a hand’ we would be most grateful – Please let Tim or Caroline know if your parents could help with driving vans, preparing meals, or would like to look after tired rowers. The more help we get the easier and more fun you will have at regattas.
